Getting Close with Moose
Moose and I are getting closer to another training goal, this one is our most challenging yet. After successfully completing his advanced dog training class in December, an achievement that followed over forty weeks of in-person training with our beloved trainer Dory, we immediately put our focus on Canine Good Citizen certification.
We’ve been hard at work all month with practice and hope to test for the certification soon. Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification is a set of ten standards of dog obedience required to be considered a well-behaved dog, as defined by the American Kennel Club. These are the most challenging standards we’ve had to meet so far on our training journey.
Honestly, I never thought I’d be in this position but here I am with Moose, who has been such a good boy since we began taking training classes together when he was just sixteen weeks old. We have both come so far since then and I wanted to give him (and us) the opportunity to test for this distinguished certification.
