Rocky Becomes a Big Brother

With the addition of Ringo to the pack, Rocky ends his month-long stint as an only dog and becomes a big brother. He earned his wings under the watchful eye of Charlie, the best big brother a dog could ask for. While I generally view life through a logical lens, I leave some room for mystical explanations, and believe Charlie played a role in sending Ringo my way.

I’m so proud of Rocky for his seamless transition from little brother to only-dog to big brother, all in a month’s time. I worried for months about Charlie’s inevitable passing and Rocky’s potential devastation at losing Charlie. Instead, my little go-getter showed his characteristic resilience in the face of unsettling change, and continues to exhibit adaptability as Ringo’s arrival presents another disruption.

Now Ringo is benefiting from Rocky’s leadership, just as Rocky benefitted from Charlie’s guidance when he was the new kid on the block. I love that Charlie’s legacy lives on through Rocky and it is so heartwarming to see that play out each day in Rocky’s budding relationship with Ringo.
