Recovery Mode

Charlie had surgery on Friday to remove a growth from his leg and is pictured here recovering quietly in a sunbeam. The incision is on his right rear leg and can't be seen in the photo, but it's a doozie. My brave boy underwent the procedure with nothing but a local anesthetic. He has had problems under general anesthesia in the past and the vet didn't want to take any risks at Charlie's advanced age. He has always been stoic and extremely cooperative with veterinary procedures, which is fortunate given his size and strength. He was rewarded with a donut on the drive home.
