April Showers
I didn’t let the weather defeat me today.
I woke up to a layer of heavy, wet snow on the ground, that would slowly melt as the morning drizzle washed it away. It was cold - too cold for April - and the sky was overcast and dreary all day. I’m in a constant battle with Michigan’s weather, and it almost got the best of me today.
After a failed photo shoot early in the day, I took Rocky out for a ride and we braved the cold, damp conditions for a quick walk at Willow Metropark. We were both trying to make it work, but we seemed to give up in unison, running back to the warmth and comfort of my FJ Cruiser. I dried him off, cranked up the heat, and held my hands up to the vents to thaw them out before heading home.
By afternoon, the dreary skies had me down in the dumps. I’m solar powered and my mood tends to match what’s going on in the sky. But I hate to let the weather win like this, so I pushed myself to try again and got ready for another photo shoot in the inclement weather.
Today’s photos are evidence of the power of pushing back, of staying focused on a goal, and of trying one more time. I love how these shots capture my vibration, which was all about taking charge and standing up to the elements.
A Cold Ride for Ringo
It was really cold today, but Ringo and I still had a great time.
Winter just won’t let go this year and today’s cold weather limited our ground time during Ringo’s visit at Willow Metropark. We hopped out of the FJ for a couple of quick walks at different locations in the park, after learning that one of our favorite trails here is closed for construction. Of course we took a moment for Ringo’s signature shot with his head peeking out the back window of my FJ cruiser. I never get tired of this shot, and Ringo never disappoints, even in the cold weather.
A Rain Check for Ringo
Ringo and I took our first trip this year to Sterling State Park today.
Yesterday’s torrential rain forced Ringo to take a rain check for our weekly day trip. The weather improved today so we headed out to Sterling State Park, our first stop here this year. Our options were limited by a trail closure but we had a blast visiting one of our favorite day trip destinations. And once again, Ringo crushed his signature shot peeking his head out the back window of my 2007 FJ Cruiser.
